The four teams that qualified for the semifinals of last year’s mega event were India, Pakistan, New Zealand and England. India had played the highest number of T20I matches in the year 2022. The Men in Blue played a series against almost every top nation to prepare themselves for the grand event. However, their campaign on a dismal note as England squashed them by 10 wickets in the semifinal match.

Speaking of India’s performance in the shortest format of the game last year, the Men in Blue tried out many players in 2022. Some of them were debutants. While the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Deepak Hooda are still members of India’s team, the following two debutants of 2022 have lost their places in the squad.
