It is the dream of all fans to watch IPL matches live at the stadium. However, not all cities have received the Indian Premier League matches in the last 14 years. The 10 franchises have their own home bases, where they play their home matches, so those 10 cities regularly host the matches.

However, there have been instances where the franchises could not play their home matches at their bases. They had to adopt other venues as their home. Stadiums like Ranchi, Indore, Pune, Cuttack, Raipur, Vizag, Kanpur and Dharamsala have played host to matches in multiple IPL seasons as the adopted home of different franchises.

But in this listicle now, we will look at the two Indian stadiums which got the chance of hosting an Indian Premier League match during one season of the tournament only.

    1. VCA Stadium, Nagpur – IPL 2010

Deccan Chargers were a part of the league during the initial seasons. They finished last in the inaugural season but made a roaring comeback and ended the second season as champions. In 2010, fans were likely to turn up in huge numbers to cheer for the Chargers in Hyderabad, but unfortunately, DC could not play their home games at their base.

Due to the Telangana agitation in Andhra Pradesh, the IPL organizers decided to move the matches out of Hyderabad. Mumbai and Nagpur hosted Deccan’s home games, with three matches happening at the VCA Stadium. DC won two out of the three games they played in Nagpur.

    2. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi – 2011

Kochi Tuskers Kerala joined the league in 2011, and they played one season only. They used two home venues – Kochi and Indore. While Indore later played host to some home game of Punjab Kings as well, Kochi never got a chance to host the league after the five games of the 2011 season.
