When it comes to an IPL auction, the category of players who are least in demand are the uncapped Indian cricketers who are above 35 years of age. Here, we take a look at the list of two Indian uncapped players aged above 35 in IPL 2024 Auctions.
Foreigners and capped Indian cricketers beyond a certain age are still okay for teams. However, for aged players who are inexperienced at the highest level, the demand is very low. Yet, some players have found their way to the IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Aditya Tare – 36 years old
Aditya Tare is a well-known name in the Indian Premier League. In the past, he was a consistent part of the Mumbai Indians setup. However, he is in the final stage of his career. Even at the domestic level, he does not represent Mumbai but has made the switch to a different association now. Nevertheless, there are some teams that need a quality Indian wicket-keeper. Aditya Tare has experience in the IPL and as we have seen with the likes of Wriddhiman Saha, age may not be exactly a stopping factor. Considering these, it will not be a surprise if we have some of the squads make a bid for Tare.
2) Jalaj Saxena – 36 years old
Jalaj Saxena is one of the Indian uncapped players aged above 35 in IPL 2024 Auctions. One of the under-rated all-rounders in India is Jalaj Saxena. Unfortunately, he never got a chance to represent India. This is despite him doing consistently well at the domestic level. Even in IPL, he has not got sufficient chances. Nevertheless, Jalaj Saxena would hope for an IPL contract. A right-arm offie with the capability to bat is a good attribute to have. Therefore, he might have attracted some interest by one of the teams.
