However, it may surprise some fans that there are two such nations against whom Kohli has batted but he has never been able to touch even the 10-run mark. Against one of those two teams, he has an average of around 3, while against the other team, he was unbeaten on two once. Without further ado, here’s a list of the two nations.
1. Virat Kohli has struggled against Ireland in T20Is
Kohli has batted in three innings against Ireland, and his scores are 0, 9 and 1. The first two were in a bilateral series against Ireland back in the year 2018, which was hosted by the Irish nation. Six years later, the Indian team battled Ireland in their opening match of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
This time, Kohli came out to open the batting with Rohit Sharma in New York. He scored one off five and handed a catch while trying a big shot against Mark Adair.
2. Scotland
Another European team to feature on the list is Scotland. While Virat has batted thrice against Ireland, he has only received one chance to play against the Scots, and in that game, he remained not out on two runs. Scotland are playing in this T20 World Cup. It will be interesting to see if Virat gets a chance to play against them.
