Giving a second chance to a discarded cricketer could be a good choice in the transition phase. Some openers who played for Team India actually deserve one more opportunity in the Test arena.
1) Prithvi Shaw deserves another chance in the Indian Test Team
Prithvi Shaw was regarded as a generational talent but the Mumbai man never got to play more than 5 games. He scored a century on debut but failed in the tough conditions in Australia. He later had fitness and form issues and with the likes of Shubman Gill taking over, Prithvi could not get one more opportunity. However, it needs to be noted that Prithvi is slowly finding his feet. He was brilliant in the County Championship and later, after an injury-break, he did well in the Ranji Trophy. He is still very young and India could benefit by giving him one more opportunity.
2) Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal is one of the openers who deserves another chance in the Indian Test Team. After being dropped from the Indian Team, Mayank Agarwal has been doing well in domestic cricket. Especially in the Ranji Trophy, while he was at the top last season, he has already scored some hundreds in the ongoing campaign. He still has the age to provide a few more years to the Indian Team.
