England have announced a star-studded squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Former champions England qualified for the semifinals in last year’s T20 World Cup tournament. However, they lost to Kane Williamson’s New Zealand cricket team and crashed out of the competition.

With the aim of winning their second T20 World Cup championship, England will take the field in this year’s mega event Down Under. Wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler will captain the side. Last year’s captain Eoin Morgan has retired from all formats of cricket.

The English team is in Group 1 of the Super 12 round. New Zealand, Australia, Afghanistan and two qualifiers will complete the group. Here is their squad for the tournament:

A couple of players in the aforementioned list were not born in England. Here are the two names:

    1. Ben Stokes will return to England team for T20 World Cup 2022

After missing out on the mega event last year because of an injury, all-rounder Ben Stokes will don the English jersey at this year’s T20 World Cup. It will be his first appearance at this mega event since 2016. In 2016, Stokes, who was born in New Zealand, bowled the last over, where Carlos Brathwaite smashed four consecutive sixes off his bowling.

    2. Chris Jordan

Born in Barbados, fast bowler Chris Jordan will don the English jersey at this year’s T20 World Cup. He was a part of the team in the previous mega event as well. Jordan is a wicket-taking bowler, who has played for Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder in Australia’s T20 tournament, Big Bash League.
