Nevertheless, Test cricket remains the favorite format of many fans. Even today, thousands of fans watch this format live at the stadium. Series like Ashes and Border-Gavaskar Trophy have a separate fanbase in the cricket world.

Speaking of Test cricket and the milestone of 100 Test matches, there are more than three players who achieved the double of scoring 3,000 runs and scalping 400 wickets in the longest format of the game after playing 100 matches. Some great names present on that list are Shane Warne, Shaun Pollock, Kapil Dev and Stuart Broad.

    1. Ravichandran Ashwin achieved the record before playing 100 Test matches

Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin became the latest cricketer to complete the double of 3,000 runs + 400 wickets in Test cricket. The off-spin bowling all-rounder accomplished the feat in the ongoing second match of the ICC World Test Championship series against the Bangladesh cricket team. It is his 88th match, where Ashwin completed this record.

    2. Sir Richard Hadlee

The player who took the least number of Test matches for completing the double of 3000 runs and 400 wickets in the longest format is Sir Richard Hadlee. He completed this record in only 83 Test matches, five less than Ravichandran Ashwin. It will be interesting to see if any cricketer can break the world record of Hadlee in the near future.
