Cricket has seen many stars over the years dominating one or two formats, but very few have managed to do the same across all three formats. All the identified formats are very different from each other in nature and demand unalike skills and temperaments.

Even if some cricketers manage to do well, longevity isn’t there as it is extremely difficult to maintain the same level of performance over the years in all three formats of the game. But there are always some exceptions who overcome the unthinkable and make a mark for themselves.

Notably, only two cricketers have featured in 100 games in each of the three formats. In this article, we will look at those two names and discuss their impact.

    1) Ross Taylor

Ross Taylor is a former New Zealand cricketer who had a long cricketing career and set some formidable records during his journey. In December 2021, he announced his decision to retire from international cricket at the end of the 2021-22 summer.

In February 2020, he played his 100th Test match to become the first-ever cricketer, completing a ton of games in each format of the game. He ended his illustrious career with 112 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20Is under his hat.

    2) Virat Kohli

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli became only the second player to achieve this feat after Ross Taylor. He featured in his 100th T20I against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 to reach this interesting hallmark.

The 33-year-old batter has already played 102 Tests, 262 ODIs and 100 T20Is, and is expected to play for another 4-5 years for the national team. With the amount of talent, his numbers are only going to go up and up.
