India Champions are one of the six teams participating in the ongoing World Championship of Legends tournament in England. It is the inaugural edition of this mega event, which also features champions from Australia, Pakistan, England, South Africa and West Indies.
Almost all players participating in this league have retired from all formats of cricket. The Indian cricketers in the India Champions squad have also retired, and the captain of this team is Yuvraj Singh. 2011 World Cup heroes Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh are a part of the squad along with 2007 T20 World Cup champions Robin Uthappa and RP Singh.
While 13 out of the 15 players in the India Champions squad have played international cricket for India at one point of time, here’s a list of two such squad members who have never played for India at the senior level.
1. Anureet Singh is playing for India Champions in World Championship of Legends 2024
Former Punjab Kings fast bowler Anureet Singh is one of the two names to feature on the list. Singh played for Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in his IPL career. He has retired now, and he has been participating in other T20 leagues.
Considering that the tournament is happening in England, India will expect Anureet Singh to take advantage of the conditions and help the team win matches with his fast bowling.
2. Rahul Shukla
The second name on this list is also a fast bowler, and he even played for Rajasthan Royals at one point. His name is Rahul Shukla, who was known for his express pace during his prime in the IPL. Apart from RR, Shukla has also been a part of the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The pace bowler is now donning the India jersey at World Championship of Legends 2024.
