Champions League T20 has been defunct for 10 years now. The last edition of the mega event happened in 2014, while its first season took place in 2009. The concept was fantastic because the organizers arranged a tournament, where the most successful franchises from different leagues of the world competed against each other.
However, due to the lack of interest in matches not involving the IPL teams and too much confusion over the availability of foreign players, the league had to be discontinued. In just six editions of Champions League T20, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings emerged as champions twice, while New South Wales Blues and Sydney Sixers won one trophy each.
It is pertinent to note that the following two players managed to play for four different teams in CLT20 even though the competition existed just for six years.
1. Dirk Nannes played for 4 different teams in Champions League T20
Former Australia and Netherlands fast bowler Dirk Nannes played for four different teams, with two of them being of IPL origin. Nannes was initially a part of the Victoria Bushrangers team hailing from Australia in 2010.
In 2009, he turned up for the Delhi Daredevils, while in 2011, he was a member of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team. A year later, Nannes turned up for the Highveld Lions team, based in South Africa.
2. Thisara Perera
Former Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera first represented his local team Waymaba XI in the CLT20 2009. After that, he represented three different teams of the Indian Premier League.
In 2012, Perera turned up for the Mumbai Indians, and in the following season, he found himself playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the last season of CLT20, Perera donned the Kings XI Punjab jersey.
