GT became only the second franchise after Rajasthan Royals to win a championship in their first season itself. The Ahmedabad-based franchise played under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, who considers MS Dhoni as an elder brother and ideal captain.

Dhoni has captained many legends during his captaincy career, and interestingly, two of them are now a member of the Gujarat Titans coaching staff for IPL 2023. Here is a list of the two players.

    1. Ashish Nehra, Head coach of Gujarat Titans

Former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra is the head coach of the Gujarat Titans. The left-arm pacer played for Chennai Super Kings and Team India under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Nehra was also a part of the squad that won the 2011 World Cup.

Nehra has done a brilliant job for the Gujarat Titans as their head coach. He became the first Indian head coach to win the IPL.

    2. Mithun Manhas

Former Indian domestic cricket player Mithun Manhas started his IPL career as a player of the Delhi Daredevils team. He then moved to the Pune Warriors before the fourth season. Pune signed him for USD 260,000 at the auction in 2011.

After a short stint with Pune Warriors India, Manhas moved to Chennai Super Kings. MS Dhoni was the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings team in 2014. Manhas has now retired from all formats of cricket. He works as an assistant coach for Gujarat Titans.
