While Hyderabad have a ton of talent in the foreign department, it is pertinent to note that the IPL rules allow only a maximum of four overseas players in the playing XI of a franchise. SRH have too many overseas talents, and the problem of plenty can give them a headache while selecting the playing XI during their IPL 2024 matches.

In case you didn’t know, the BCCI has a mid-season transfer window in IPL, wherein teams can trade players to one another, with the condition that the traded player cannot play against his former team. Here’s a list of two players whom Sunrisers Hyderabad can think of trading out.

    1. SRH can let go of Glenn Phillips in IPL 2024

New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips is an excellent finisher. He can also chip in with wickets and contribute exceptionally well as a fielder. The reason why Phillips may not get a place in the SRH team is that the squad already has the likes of Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Aiden Markram, Wanindu Hasaranga, Marco Jansen and Heinrich Klaasen to choose from.

Hence, Phillips may not get a single game. Instead, SRH can think of trading him out on loan or even getting a talented Indian player if possible.

    2. Fazalhaq Farooqi

Afghanistan’s left-arm fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi may have to warm the benches for the entire season because of the stacked pace attack of SRH. The team has Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Pat Cummins, T Natarajan, Umran Malik, Jaydev Unadkat, Akash Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy. In that case, Farooqi will have to stay out. It is better for both parties if he is traded out.
