Winning the Man of the Match in an ICC tournament match is the dream of every Indian cricketer. The Indian team has a strong pool of players, which is why it is hard for any talent to break into the ICC event squad, and if he makes it to the big tournaments, it is difficult to win the Player of the Match because there are so many extraordinary talents present in the squad.
Some of the big names in Indian cricket have missed out on a Player of the Match award at the grandest stage of ’em all. The list even features the following two big names, who have established themselves as some of the most successful players in Indian cricket history.
1. Hardik Pandya is yet to win a Man of the Match in ICC events
The most shocking name present on this list is Hardik Pandya. The Indian vice-captain has produced many memorable performances at ICC events. Be it with the bat, ball or even fielding, Hardik has always given his 100% on the field.
However, the commentators and the organizing team have never rewarded him with the Player of the Match award. The performances against Pakistan in Champions Trophy Final 2017 and semifinal of T20 World Cup 2022 against England were worthy of Player of the Match. However, Pandya missed out because India lost the game.
2. Rahul Dravid

Current Indian cricket team coach Rahul Dravid has also never had the honor of receiving the Player of the Match award in an ICC event match. Dravid represented India in multiple ICC events.
To be precise, he represented India in 41 matches across different ICC events, and there were some fantastic performances as well. However, luck did not favor Dravid when it came to winning POTM awards.
