Dubai Capitals are one of the six teams participating in the inaugural edition of the International League T20 tournament. As the name would suggest, the DC franchise of ILT20 2023 have the same owners as Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. GMR Sports owns this franchise in the UAE-based T20 league.
The Dubai franchise have started off well in the new T20 competition as they recorded a win over the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the first match itself. They lost their next two matches against the Gulf Giants, but given how strong the team is, it should not be a surprise if they make a comeback in the upcoming matches of ILT20 2023.
Speaking of Dubai Capitals, Delhi Capitals player Rovman Powell is the captain of the franchise in this tournament. Dubai have star players from different parts of the world in their squad, and two of them will play for the Punjab Kings in the IPL. Here’s a list of those two players:
1. Sikandar Raza plays for the Dubai Capitals in ILT20 2023
Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza dominated world T20I cricket in the year 2022. Raza made a name for himself with his excellent batting in the middle-order and spin bowling skills as well. He established himself as the biggest match-winner for the Zimbabwean cricket team.
Unsurprisingly, Raza earned a maiden IPL contract at the 2023 auction with the Mohali-based franchise signing him for INR 50 lakh at the mini auction. Raza also earned a deal from DC in the ILT20 tournament.
2. Bhanuka Rajapaksa
Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa came into the limelight with his explosive performances for the Punjab Kings in the 2022 Indian Premier League season. Rajapaksa is also a member of the Dubai team in International League T20 tournament happening right now.
