Saurabh Netravalkar has stolen the show with his impressive left-arm pace bowling in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 tournament. While the pitches have been tough for batting, it still requires great execution from the bowlers so that they can achieve success in the big games.

Netravalkar has stood up and delivered the goods for USA team in this tournament. Be it bowling the Super Over against Pakistan or dismissing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the powerplay, Netravalkar has done a phenomenal job for his team.

While Saurabh Netravalkar has done well and deserves an IPL contract now, here are the two reasons why the former USA captain may not be ready to play in the world’s biggest T20 league.

    1. Saurabh Netravalkar will have to leave Oracle to play IPL

Netravalkar has studied hard and built a career in the world of coding. He even has a great position in Oracle. While the company has granted him leave to represent USA in the T20 World Cup, they may not be kind enough to give Netravalkar three-month leave to play in IPL.

Also, Netravalkar is in his 30s now. His cricket career may not have a long life, and the wise move would be to continue at Oracle while playing in other short leagues.

    2. He might be benched in IPL

Although Netravalkar is from Maharashtra and played for India in U19 World Cup 2010, he will qualify for the IPL 2025 Auction as an American player only. Considering the enormous competition among overseas players for a spot in the IPL playing XI, Netravalkar may have to warm the benches only. Hence, he will not leave Oracle for this.
