The players are now picked based on their batting skills and then utilized as a keeper if required. Yet, we could see some keepers made their debut in the upcoming season. Franchises have now become slightly flexible with the role of a wicket-keeper. Part-timers are also used in this role. It all comes down to the batting skills of the player.

1) Shai Hope

It was a surprise when Delhi Capitals selected Shai Hope at the auctions. While he has been in good form recently, the West Indian man is yet to show consistency in the T20 format which merits him an IPL contract. Nevertheless, it would be a good chance for him. As per reports, Rishabh Pant will not keep wickets in IPL 2024. This means that DC must try to accomodate another keeper in the XI. While an Indian keeper will be preferred, Tristan Stubbs is the likely foreign pick as the keeper in the playing XI. If he is not in form, Shai Hope could then make his debut for Delhi.

2) Tom Kohler Cadmore is a foreign player who could debut in IPL 2024

Tom Kohler Cadmore is one of the talented foreign wicket-keepers who could make their debut in IPL 2024. Interestingly, the English player is yet to play for his country but might make his debut in the IPL in the coming months. Rajasthan Royals picked him at his base price at the recent auctions. The English players could have national duties at the end of the IPL 2024 and here, some backups would be needed. If TKC is not picked by England, he is sure to get a spot in the playing XI for RR.
