CSK has been a good franchise for some fine Australian cricketers in the past. The likes of Shane Watson and Mike Hussey are legends for the franchise. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Australian cricketers CSK bid for but could not sign for IPL 2026.
However, slowly, the trend is coming to an end. That said, CSK has tried getting some fine Australian cricketers in the team in the recent auctions. But that was not possible for them.
1) Cameron Green
Cameron Green was an obvious target for the side. With the money CSK had in their purse, they should have got him because KKR also had other spots to fill. If Green had been in the squad, he would have made sense at No.6, although he is not naturally suited for the role.
2) Jack Edwards is one of the Australian cricketers CSK bid for but could not sign for IPL 2026
The Aussie cricketer would have been an ideal fit at CSK, considering the needs of the franchise now. He would have added balance to the side and also some hitting power. Now, CSK has to rely on Jamie Overton for the role.
3) Ben Dwarshuis
With Matheesha Pathirana not in the squad, CSK rightly targeted Ben. He is in form and can bowl in all phases. Since Nathan Ellis did not play all games last season, Ben would have been a good backup.
