After the Test series, Australia and the West Indies are now involved in a T20 competition. For both teams, this will serve as preparation for next year’s T20 World Cup. Here, we take a look at the list of three Australian cricketers unlucky to miss the West Indies T20I series.
Australia will want to win the upcoming T20 World Cup, especially after failing in the WTC Final. This will also be key because the squad is going through a transition.
1) Marcus Stoinis
It is a big surprise that Stoinis does not find a place in the side, especially because he has been doing well in various T20 leagues. He was impressive in IPL 2025, as well. Moreover, he has experience playing in India and this would have been needed for the event next year. Yet, he is not a part of the squad.
2) Ashton Agar is not a part of the West Indies T20I series
Not long ago, he was one of the best T20 bowlers. However, due to form and injury issues, his career has gone off track. For Ashton, injury a few months ago was a big disadvantage. It now appears that Australia is looking at the future and hence, there are young spinners in the team.
3) Jason Behrendorff
Jason was brilliant in BBL 2024/25. With Starc not there, he would have been ideal for the side in the powerplay. However, the likes of Spencer Johnson have been preferred for this series.
