As per reports, KKR is set to move on from Chandrakant Pandit for the next season. There is to be a new backroom setting for the next campaign. Here, we take a look at the list of three Australian Head Coaches KKR can consider for IPL 2026.
KKR was poor in IPL 2025. It was at the auctions that they failed to do a good job. That said, they still had the resources to do a better job, but the coaches failed to make it happen.
1) Simon Katich
Simon Katich now has a good reputation as a T20 coach. He has gigs across various T20 leagues, and he also has experience in the IPL as a Head Coach. He was with the RCB a few years ago. Simon could be a safe bet for KKR because of his experience in the role.
2) Shane Watson is one of the Australian Head Coaches KKR can consider for IPL 2026
Watto is doing well as a coach in various other leagues across the globe. As a T20 skipper, he exhibited shrewd thinking. Considering he is a modern T20 coach, KKR might be interested in his services.
3) Mike Hussey
Mike is with the Chennai Super Kings as the batting coach. However, a gig as a Head Coach could entice him. Mike has decent coaching experience and, importantly, he turns up in the IPL every year. This could give him the added edge of knowing how the league functions. Hence, he is on this list.
