For the India tour of England, the selectors named the India A Team. There were a few youngsters who got selected, and the likes of Karun Nair made a comeback. Here, we take a look at the list of three batters unlucky to miss out on the India A squad. Before that, here is a look at the squad:
India A squad for the first game: Abhimanyu Easwaran (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Dhruv Jurel (VC) (WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan (WK), Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, Harshit Rana, Anshul Kamboj, Khaleel Ahmed, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan, Tushar Deshpande, Harsh Dubey.
1) Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer is in the form of his life. He now plays the short ball very well. At this juncture, it would have been ideal to get him back to the Test setup. Actually, Shreyas never underperformed in whites. It is a challenge for him in England but the India A games would have surely helped the cricketer.
2) Baba Indrajith is one of the batters unlucky to miss out on the India A squad
For a while now, he has been mounting runs at the domestic level. However, opportunities are not arriving for Baba. Yet again, he missed out on a potential series which could have helped him make his India debut.
3) Rajat Patidar
Unless he is injured, there is no reason why the selectors did not pick him. Yes, he might have had a rough debut series, but Patidar is skilled enough to make a strong comeback. He is a quality cricketer and has the temperament to hit a big knock. Hence, his absence is a bit of a surprise.
