    Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the premier T20 competition of Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the tournament in 2015, with the inaugural edition happening in 2016. Five teams, namely Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators played in the inaugural season.

    A few seasons later, PCB introduced a new franchise, named the Multan Sultans. Pakistan fans consider PSL as the pride of their country because several top cricketing talents of the world participate in this tournament, which has taken place in Pakistan and UAE over the years.

    While most of the signed cricketers and coaches keep themselves free during the PSL window, the following three big names ignored the leagues due to unusual reasons.

    1. Kieron Pollard missed PSL match to attend Ambani pre-wedding

    In case you didn’t know, former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard is currently in Jamnagar to celebrate Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding. Pollard has been associated with MI franchises across the world. He also played for Mumbai Indians in IPL for a long time.

    Since he has a good relationship with the Ambani family, Pollard took a break from his stint with the Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League and traveled to Jamnagar.

    2. Andy Flower

    Andy Flower was the coach of the Multan Sultans team in Pakistan Super League 2022. However, during the 2022 edition of the league, Flower had to take a short break from the competition to travel to India and participate in the IPL Mega Auction, representing the Lucknow Super Giants.

    3. Kamran Akmal

    Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal received a silver category contract from Peshawar Zalmi in 2021. However, the experienced wicketkeeper felt that he deserved a better deal. Hence, he pulled out of the deal and asked Zalmi to release him.
