It is a bold call by KKR to go for yet another Indian Head Coach. However, considering the profile of Abhishek, it is not very surprising that KKR have placed a huge trust in him.
1) Groom Angkrish Raghuvanshi as the opener
Angkrish is a solid talent and he can do well if he plays at the top of the order. The move may not get you immediate returns but it will be an investment for the future. Nayar could take this call, considering his focus on youth.
2) Releasing Andre Russell is one of the bold decisions Abhishek Nayar could take as the Head Coach of KKR
Cameron Green is on the market, and KKR has a good chance of securing him for the future. He would be the ideal signing for the side. However, they must take the risk of releasing Russell to have the funds to go after Green. It is a bold call as it could bite back. 3) Appoint Rinku Singh as the captain
KKR needs a captain for the future. Relying on Ajinkya Rahane may not help the side in the long run, especially because the team’s balance gets disturbed.
