CSK’s campaign has been so bad that the management might take some bold calls after the season. Here, we take a look at the list of three bold decisions CSK could take after IPL 2025.
It is a big wake-up call for CSK. The franchise has been stubborn in many ways. Now, the team has to be built for the future, and hence, some changes could follow.
1) Change the backroom staff
For a while now, CSK has had the same backroom staff. Probably, not many fresh ideas are coming through. Starting from the Head Coach position, the top brass could consider a transition. There are quite a few coaches in the market who could add value to the setup.
2) Moving on from MS Dhoni is one of the bold decisions CSK could take after IPL 2025
It is probably the right time for CSK and MS Dhoni to part ways, at least for what happens on the field. Dhoni is not able to contribute much with the bat. CSK also needs to look at the future of the wicket-keeper role. Hence, MS Dhoni could retire from the game.
3) Release almost half the squad
Barring two or three names, none of the signings made at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions have done well for CSK. Some of the retained players have also been poor. Hence, despite only a Mini Auction scheduled for the next two years, CSK could release almost 50% of the squad. Some of the big names include R Ashwin, Sam Curran and Devon Conway.
