In the upcoming days, BCCI will announce the list of contracted players for the next season. Here, we take a look at the list of three cricketers who might be removed from the upcoming BCCI Annual Contract.
A few players have gone out of favour in recent times. Hence, these players might not be in the race to get a BCCI contract for the next season.
Note: We have not considered R Ashwin, who has retired from all formats of the game.
1) Jitesh Sharma
A few players have overtaken Jitesh Sharma in the T20 Team. Dhruv Jurel is one of them. He is doing well for India, and he might get a long rope.
Jitesh himself did not have a great IPL 2024. Hence, he dropped out of the Indian Team. It would be tough for him to make a comeback now to the Indian Team.
2) KS Bharat might be removed from the upcoming BCCI Annual Contract
KS Bharat is one of the cricketers who might be removed from the upcoming BCCI Annual Contract. Bharat has not done well for India whenever he got a chance.
Now, Rishabh Pant is back and Dhruv Jurel is firm as a backup. If needed, KL Rahul can also keep wickets. Bharat is also not in great form at the domestic level. Hence, he could lose his contract.
3) Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur is all set to make a comeback to the Indian Team. However, that is not a guarantee for him to take home a BCCI contract.
The contract details will be announced in a few days. Shardul is not in the Indian Team right now. Hence, it is unlikely that he will feature on this list.
