Australia is the most successful cricket nation. The country always produces some fine athletes, and they usually do well. Interestingly, a few were actually not born in Australia. Here, we take a look at the list of three popular current Australian cricketers who were not born in Australia.
These players have done well for the side and still have an important job to do for the franchise. We have not included players such as Matt Renshaw (born in the United Kingdom) who are not in the Australian team right now.
1) Usman Khawaja
Born in Islamabad, Pakistan, Usman Khawaja has been a fine opener for Australia for a few years now. He has had his share of ups and downs, but when it comes to consistency, Usman usually has a good rank. He is technically competent and also does well in Asian conditions.
2) Marnus Labuschagne was not born in Australia
We have seen many cricketers born in South Africa travel and do well for other nations. Marnus is another name on this list. At the moment, Marnus is in poor form and has also been dropped from the Test side. However, he is a quality cricketer and can still do well for his side in the coming years.
3) Josh Inglis
Not many know that Inglis was actually born in the United Kingdom. He is a part of all three formats for Australia. There are also chances that he could become the skipper of the T20 format in a few years.
