Abu Dhabi T10 League 2022 will commence today in the United Arab Emirates. Eight franchises will compete against each other in this mega tournament. There is a team from Chennai in this competition named The Chennai Braves. Interestingly though, the Chennai Braves squad does not feature any Indian player or a player from the IPL team named Chennai Super Kings.
There are some current and former CSK stars who will be playing in the T10 League. Speaking of the former stars, former Chennai Super Kings vice-captain Suresh Raina will represent the Deccan Gladiators. Former Chennai off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will turn up for the Delhi Bulls, while Dwayne Bravo, who was recently released by CSK is the captain of the Bulls.
Apart from that, there are three such players who were retained by Chennai Super Kings before the IPL 2023 Mini Auction and will be in action in this competition. Here is a list of those three names.
1. Moeen Ali is a captain in T10 League
England T20I team’s vice-captain Moeen Ali will lead the Morrisville Samp Army team in the Abu Dhabi’s competition. The Morrisville Samp Army will be making its debut in this competition. It will be exciting to see how the team performs in this tournament.
2. Dwaine Pretorius will play in T10 League
Another retained all-rounder from Chennai Super Kings to feature in the list is pace-bowling all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius. He will play under the captaincy of Moeen Ali for the Morrisville Samp Army team.
3. Matheesha Pathiarana
Matheesha Pathirana is another retained player from the Chennai Super Kings squad to feature in this competition. He is known for his slingy bowling action like Lasith Malinga. Pathirana will be playing for the Bangla Tigers team.
