RCB do not own a franchise in Major League Cricket, but they have some of their star players participating in the tournament. In case you didn’t know, MLC is the new league of USA cricket which started in the year 2023 only.
There are six teams in the competition, with four of them having IPL team owners as the owners. Mumbai Indians own the MI New York team, Chennai Super Kings own the Texas Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders owners own the Los Angeles Knight Riders, while the Delhi Capitals have stakes in Seattle Orcas.
As mentioned ahead, three-time IPL finalists Royal Challengers Bengaluru do not have a team in this competition, but the following three RCB stars will be in action in Major League Cricket 2024.
1. RCB captain Faf du Plessis is skipper of Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket
Before joining the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL, former South African captain Faf du Plessis had a long association with the Chennai Super Kings. Now, the Chennai-based franchise do not have them in their IPL squad, but the Super Kings continue to have Faf in their squad in other teams.
Faf is the captain of the Texas Super Kings in MLC and Joburg Super Kings in SA20. Some big names like Mitchell Santner, Marcus Stoinis and Daryl Mitchell will play for TSK this season.
2. Glenn Maxwell
Known for his big-hitting abilities, off-spin bowling and fantastic fielding, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will turn up for Washington Freedom in MLC 2024. The squad will be led by Steve Smith, and it also features big names like Travis Head and Saurabh Netravalkar.
3. Lockie Ferguson
RCB speedster Lockie Ferguson will also turn up for Washington Freedom in Major League Cricket. Ferguson played for RCB for the first time in IPL earlier this year. It will be exciting to see how he performs for Washington in the upcoming tournament.
