While a breath of fresh air is needed at the moment, India might also consider a few stars who are out of the setup now. Thyey could offer better value to the team right now.
1) Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar had a tough start to his Test career. He got to play at home against England. However, it was a poor outing for him and he also fell short of confidence. Therefore, he had to be dropped from the setup. Since then, he has not played for India. That said, from a technical perspective, he looks very fit to be a part of the Test setup.
2) Shreyas Iyer could return to the Indian Test Team
Shreyas Iyer is one of the discarded Test cricketers who could return to the Indian Test Team. The reasons for Shreyas Iyer’s being completely removed from the Test Team are not clear. If he had been there for the New Zealand series, surely, India might have had a better run in the middle order. Yes, he has some issues in the SENA Nations but now, no one is doing well there either. Hence, Shreyas can come back.
3) Karun Nair
It is not all over for Karun Nair. He has been in fine touch across domestic tournaments. Considering he has played at the County, he could be in consideration for the England Tour.
