IPL franchises could take note of this behaviour by the English cricketers. While the committed ones such as Jos Buttler will be honoured for their loyalty, after IPL 2024, some players might never get an IPL contract.
1) Jason Roy
Jason Roy has been pulling out of IPL due to personal reasons for a lot of seasons now. Just a few years ago, he had done that with Gujarat Titans. Such players might not be backed in the future. There are plenty of better openers in the market who are willing to give it all to the side. Hence, Roy might never be picked.
2) Alex Hales is one of the English cricketers who might never get an IPL contract in the future
Alex Hales is a talented cricketer but he has also pulled out of IPL on a few occasions. He is now a retired cricketer and IPL could be a big chance for him. However, with his record, teams might not be interested in him. The player has also probably realized this and is not registering for the auctions in the recent season.
3) Chris Jordan
Chris Jordan is one of the English cricketers who might never get an IPL contract in the future. When it comes to commitment, Chris Jordan is one of the best in the business. Even when he plays, he tries to give his best on the field. However, his performances have not been great. His last two franchises in IPL are MI & CSK. He failed to do well for these two popular sides. This will surely affect his market in the future.
