Bangladesh did really well to win two games against Pakistan. They are good in the subcontinent. Hence, India must be careful while selecting their playing XI for this series.

    1) Sarfaraz Khan at No.5

Sarfaraz Khan’s rise against England came in the absence of India’s first-choice middle-order batters. Gautam Gambhir might have considered his selection in the XI even after the likes of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have returned. However, it would be risky to have Sarfaraz now because Bangladesh is in good form. India needs experienced players who can avoid a collapse if it happens. Hence, Sarfaraz may not get a game.

    2) Arshdeep Singh’s debut for India against Bangladesh might not happen

Arshdeep Singh‘s debut is one of the experiments India might avoid against Bangladesh after the latter’s whitewash over Pakistan. Many expect Arshdeep Singh to don the whites soon. A few felt that the Bangladesh series might be the ideal chance because it would then help the youngster prepare for the BGT. However, it could be a risky proposition now. India might play it safe with the likes of Bumrah and Siraj in the team.

    3) Four spinners in the playing XI

In recent tournaments, Team India has tried out having just one pacer in the side. With R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav all in good touch, India could have tried this option again, especially since one of the games is in Chennai. However, Bangladesh has some good players of spin. Preparing spin-friendly tracks could actually backfire. Hence, India could stick with two pacers and three spinners.
