However, with the IPL 2024 auction coming up on December 19, CSK will enter the auction with a purse value of INR 32.2 crore. They will look to sign some good players at the auction who can do well for the team. However, the Chennai franchise has a history where they mostly prefer their former players. Hence, we will talk about three former CSK players whom Chennai can target at the IPL 2024 auction.

3. Jason Holder

Former West Indian Jason Holder will be one of the players to watch out for at the IPL auction. The all-rounder is a pretty capable performer with the bat and the ball. He made his IPL debut in 2013 and played six matches for CSK. Overall, he has played 46 games and taken 53 wickets. He has been an improved bowler who can also contribute with the bat. CSK might look to have him back because of his all-round skills.

2. Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur has been released and will be available at the auction. He was part of the CSK from 2018 to 2021 and won two seasons with them. He has played 48 matches for them and taken 55 wickets in the IPL. Shardul has also improved his batting, which is why he was getting 10 crore in the last couple of seasons. However, as an Indian player, he can play every game, which might be a reason that CSK might look for him.

1. Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood was part of the CSK setup in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He played 12 matches for them and took 12 wickets at an economy rate of 7.93. RCB released him, and he might be one to target among a few franchises. CSK will be one of them. They would like to have Hazlewood back, which can make their bowling stronger.
