Also, BCCI must groom a new coach for the future. Here, we take a look at the list of three former Indian players whom Rahul Dravid must take as an assistant coach.

    1) Irfan Pathan could be a good assistant coach in Rahul Dravid’s team

    Irfan Pathan is one of the former Indian players whom Rahul Dravid must take as assistant coach. During his stint in Jammu & Kashmir, Irfan Pathan did a fine job as a Mentor. However, he left the field there after. These days, he is concentrating more on his career as a broadcaster. However, Irfan did show a fine skill of spotting talent and nurturing them. India needs such individuals working for the Indian Team and hence, joining Team India could be a good idea.

    Not many remember that LR Shukla actually played for India in ODI cricket. He has been doing a decent job as the Head Coach of Bengal. It might not be an attractive resume but it is the responsibility of BCCI to groom future coaches. Shukla is aware of the latest trends in the game and could be a good option for Team India.

    3) Abhishek Nayar

    The Mumbai all-rounder is also one of the former Indian players whom Rahul Dravid must take as an assistant coach. He is currently employed at KKR. Abhishek has had a run as a coach in the CPL but it has not gone well so far. If BCCI can convince Nayar, it would be a coup. The former India cricketer is behind the rise of many cricketers such as Rinku Singh. He has a keen eye for talent and is also a good coach when it comes to technical skills. Hence, he is a part of the list.
