    The Mumbai Indians are the most successful Indian Premier League franchise of all time, having won seven titles so far. The Mumbai-based team have won the IPL championship five times. They also won the Champions League T20 trophy twice.

    Over the years, some of the legends of the game like Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Parthiv Patel, Sanath Jayasuriya, Shaun Pollock, Lasith Malinga and several others have played for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. All the legends named above have announced their retirement already.

    Some of the former MI players have also retired and taken up coaching as a profession now. Three of them are members of the coaching staff in T20 World Cup 2022. Here’s a list of those three names:

    1. Former Mumbai Indians player Luke Ronchi

    Luke Ronchi was a member of the MI squad during the initial seasons of the Indian Premier League. The Australian-Kiwi wicket-keeper batter played all five matches of his IPL career for Mumbai across 2008 and 2009. In those five games, he scored 34 runs, with his highest score being 13.

    Ronchi is currently a member of New Zealand cricket team’s coaching staff. He is one of the batting coaches for the team.

    2. Michael Hussey

    Current Chennai Super Kings batting coach Michael Hussey was once a part of the MI squad. The Australian batter donned the MI jersey in the 2014 season. He aggregated 209 runs in nine matches for the Mumbai-based franchise. Hussey has joined the England squad as a consultant.

    3. Former Mumbai Indians player Lasith Malinga

    Former Sri Lankan star Lasith Malinga held the record for the most wickets in IPL history for quite some time. He has retired from the league now and is a fast-bowling coach for Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup 2022.
