CSK has probably one or two spots to fill, and the rest of the signings could be backups. Here, we take a look at the list of three former players CSK might target at the upcoming IPL 2026 Auctions.
CSK can go big on one player, and then they could have to suffice with backups. Therefore, some of the older players might fit the tactic well because they will come ready to play for the side.
1) Matt Henry
Matt Henry has played for CSK before, but he has not got a lot of games to make an impression. If Pathirana is not back to CSK, the franchise needs some all-phase pacers, and Henry could be a good fit in this regard.
2) Maheesh Theekshana is one of the former players CSK might target at IPL 2026 Auctions
CSK needs to fix its issues in powerplay bowling. They cannot afford to use up Noor Ahmed and hence, a good powerplay spinner could help the side. Therefore, Theekshana makes sense for the side, especially at venues where the ball turns.
3) Karn Sharma
Karn Sharma has been at CSK before, and he has done well for them. With Ravindra Jadeja’s exit, the squad might need one more experienced Indian spinner. While Karn might not be in great form, he still adds value with his experience.
