At 37 now, Rohit can still offer at least two more years with the bat and as a skipper. In this regard, a few teams would line him up as a captaincy choice.
1) Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings are in need of a popular Indian face who can bring more popularity to the squad. Of course, they also need a good skipper, too. Rohit Sharma would be the best choice in this regard. If Rohit joins PBKS, his huge fanbase will also start following the franchise, which will help them bag more sponsors. On the field, Rohit’s skills might even help PBKS win the competition.
2) Sunrisers Hyderabad could sign Rohit Sharma for IPL 2025
SRH is one of the franchises Rohit Sharma is likely to captain in IPL 2025 if he leaves Mumbai Indians. While Pat Cummins did well in IPL 2024, he may not be a long-term option as a skipper, especially because of his availability. In this regard, if they manage to get Rohit at the auctions, he would be a suitable contender to lead the side. As per reports, LSG is likely to release KL Rahul. If that happens, the franchise will need a new captain. Rohit Sharma is a top choice and would slot in exactly where KL Rahul bats in the top-order. LSG anyways has Nicholas Pooran as the wicket-keeper. Hence, LSG could try and sign Rohit.
