Indian batters have been quite dominant in the cricket world. The Men in Blue have been home to some of the greatest batters of all time. However, in the olden days, the Indian batters would generally focus on ground strokes and timing. In the modern era, the players focus more on big hitting, and if a player can’t hit sixes, he is generally left out of the team.
If a batter can smash sixes at will, he can prove to be an asset for any team. The Indian batters have also learned the skills, and in the history of international cricket, there have been three such instances when a player from India hit four sixes on a trot. Here’s a list of three such batters.
1. One of the current Indian batters – Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best T20I batters in the world right now. The right-handed batter has earned the nickname of Mr. 360 with his ability to smash the ball all around the park. Yadav has mastered his game in T20Is, and he is gradually showing improvement in the ODI format as well.
Earlier today, in the second ODI match between India and Australia at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Yadav smashed a quickfire half-century. During his innings, he smacked four back-to-back sixes off Cameron Green.
2. Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma owns the record for the highest sixes by an Indian in international cricket history. The current Indian skipper once smashed four sixes in a row during a match against the Sri Lankan cricket team back in the year 2017.
3. Zaheer Khan
Not many fans would know that the first Indian player to hit four sixes in a row in an international cricket match was Zaheer Khan. He was a left-arm fast bowler and specialized in bowling. However, at times, Khan would also score quick runs. Khan smashed four sixes in four balls against Zimbabwe in 2000.
