There are many reasons why a city could go out of radar when it comes to hosting a game. The main cause is the absence of a good quality stadium or if the stadium had to face a different fate. That said, it is the bad luck of the fans to lose the chance of witnessing international stars show their skills near their place of residence.

    1) Kochi

The Jawaharlal Stadium in Kochi used to be a popular destination for high-profile cricket games. It has played host to many iconic matches. In fact, this ground also had an IPL franchise once called the Kochi Tuskers Kerala. However, this stadium is now home to the Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League. The Kerala capital of Trivandrum now hosts international games. It is a good venue with good facilities.

    2) Baroda

Baroda is one of the Indian cities that used to host international games but hardly do it now. The IPCL Sports Complex Ground last hosted an international game in 2010. With a capacity of 20,000, the venue hosted 10 ODIs. However, this city does not host games now. Gujarat has good stadiums in Rajkot and of course, the best stadium in Ahmedabad. It needs to be seen if Baroda will also host games in the future.

    3) Gwalior

Located in Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior last hosted an international game in 2010. The Captain Roop Singh Stadium had a capacity of close to 18000. A city with good history, it would have been nice to have games there. However, for MP, the matches now happen in Indore at the Holkar Stadium.
