In the age of three formats of cricket, it is natural that a few players could end up prioritizing one format over the others. We have already witnessed the concept of Test and T20 specialists. The idea of ODI specialists is not common because the format itself is not being played much. Nevertheless, a few Indian players could end up having a long career in ODI cricket due to their attributes. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Indian cricketers who could become ODI specialists in the future.

    1) KL Rahul

KL Rahul has almost lost his spot in the T20I Team. In Tests, with Shubman Gill doing well, he might get fewer opportunities to stay in the Test Team. Anyways, his form has been poor in Tests, as well. However, in ODIs, KLR is going well at No.5. He is also keeping wickets and is helping the team. He adds a lot of calmness and balance in the middle order in ODIs. Hence, going forward, he could become the fulcrum for India in ODIs.

    2) Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna is one of the Indian cricketers who could become ODI specialists in the future. While Prasidh has the potential to become a good Test player, his fitness record may not allow that. He also has limitations as a T20 pacer and there are better options available. However, with only 10 overs to bowl, Prasidh seems to have the skills to excel. Therefore, he is on this list.

    3) Kuldeep Yadav

At least for this WTC Cycle, Kuldeep Yadav may not get a spot in Test XI with the likes of Ashwin, Jaddu & Axar set to dominate. In T20Is, India might prefer bowling all-rounders and fast leg-spinners. However, in ODIs, Kuldeep is a strong bet to be a game-changer in the middle overs. Therefore, he is likely to become an ODI specialist in the future.
