On Wednesday, BCCI announced the T20I squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against West Indies. The games will happen in the same venues which will also host the 2024 T20 World Cup. Hence, the squad selection has given clues on the roadmap for the Indian Team. Here, we take a look at the list of the all-time Indian Legends whose T20I career might be over.

India’s T20I squad for the West Indies series: Ishan Kishan (wk), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Surya Kumar Yadav (VC), Sanju Samson (wk), Hardik Pandya (C), Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar.

    1) Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian Team. His form has been poor and in recent tournaments, he was not included in the T20I squad. Although he is currently fit and available, his not being a part of the T20I squad suggests that he might not be in the plans for the Indian Team in this format.

    2) Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the all-time Indian Legends whose T20I career might be over. It is now almost clear that Virat Kohli might also not feature in the Indian T20I squad going forward. He has actually been in splendid form in this format and it is a surprise that BCCI has made the decision to exclude both the legends at the same time.

    3) Ravindra Jadeja

With Axar Patel doing well and Ravindra Jadeja’s returns for the Indian T20I Team reducing, it appears that even he might not get chances in the Indian T20I Team going forward. There are also some other options in the circuit who could be tried in the coming months.
