The reverse countdown to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has started. The mega event will start in Australia on October 16. India will play their first match against Pakistan on October 23. The squad for the mega event has been released. Here is the complete list of Indian players present in the squad and list of reserves for the T20 World Cup 2022:
Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh. Standby Players: Mohammad Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.
Apart from the names mentioned above on the list, there are three other players who will be traveling to Australia with the Indian squad. They will reportedly be the extras and net bowlers for the team. Here’s a list of those three names:
1. Chetan Sakariya is traveling with Indian T20 team for Australia
According to a report by Sportstar, left arm fast bowler Chetan Sakariya will travel Down Under with the team for the mega event this year. His role will likely be that of a net bowler. Sakariya made his debut for the Indian cricket team last year against Sri Lanka. However, he could not cement his spot in the team.
2. Mukesh Choudhary
Another left-arm fast bowler who will try to help the Indian batters Down Under during the World Cup is Mukesh Choudhary. He is yet to play international cricket, but Mukesh did a splendid job for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022.
3. R Sai Kishore
As per Cricbuzz, left-arm spin bowler R Sai Kishore is also making the trip to Australia as a net bowler. He will likely be one of the backup options as well if the Indian team needs.
