The first test between India and South Africa is almost nearing its end. The hosts posted a massive total in their first inning and made 408 in reply to India’s first inning score of 245. South Africa took a lead of 163 runs, which was massive in the context of the game.
The Indian bowlers, apart from Jasprit Bumrah, looked clueless. As per the latest scorecard, India lost both openers by a score of 13 in 5.3 overs. 3. Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur is on the team as a bowling all-rounder. He also scored 24 important runs in the first inning. But his prime skill is to take wickets, and he looked clueless with the ball in hand. Though he took the wicket of Dean Elgar, apart from that, he bowled badly and also leaked runs. Thakur was the only bowler to concede more than 100 runs (101/1).
2. Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna made his name as a pacy bowler who can extract bounces from the pitch. But he hasn’t had the debut game that he would have liked. He looked toothless and was easy to score off. In his debut innings, he ended with 93/1 at an economy rate of 4.70, which is one of the reasons that India struggled badly.
1. Yashasvi Jaiswal
This is the first outing for young Yashasvi Jaiswal in SENA countries, and he hasn’t been up to the mark as he should be. The left-hander registered scores of 17 and 5 in two innings. The conditions will be similar in the second game as well, and it might be hard for him. If Jaiswal fails in the second game as well, it will be tough for India.
