LSG was quite active at the recently held auctions. They did make a few smart signings. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians LSG bid for but could not sign in the IPL 2026 Auctions.
That said, in the end, some of the signings that LSG made did not make sense. Nevertheless, they have a few match-winners and will look to do well.
1) Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer was a target for LSG. The Indian batter would have made the middle-order more solid. However, he would have been an extra left-hander in the middle order, which would have made the line-up one-dimensional.
2) Prashant Veer is one of the Indians LSG bid for, but could not sign in the IPL 2026 Auctions
Shahbaz Ahmed and M Siddarth were the two left-arm spinners in the team. However, neither could nail down a spot in the playing XI last season. In this regard, LSG went hard for UP player Veer, who eventually went to CSK. He would have been a fine option as a finisher and as a spinner.
3) Karthik Sharma
LSG relies on the duo of Abdul Samad and Ayush Badoni as finisher. They are young and not very experienced. Hence, it would have made sense to have one more option in this regard. Although not experienced, Karthik is high on potential and LSG rightly targeted him.
