The Mumbai Indians had a low purse at the recent auctions. Hence, they had to rely on only base-price signings. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Indians MI bid for but could not sign in the IPL 2026 Auctions.
MI had slight gaps to fill. They covered most of them in the trade window and had forged a solid XI. Only focus is on backups and signings for the future.
1) Prashant Veer
He eventually went for INR 14.2 Cr to CSK. However, MI was interested initially. With him in the bag, MI could have had the backup to Mitchell Santner and hence, it would have been a worthy signing.
2) Mukul Choudhary is one of the Indians MI bid for, but could not sign in the IPL 2026 Auctions
Robin Minz is the only noted wicket-keeper in the squad. Hence, MI had to get some more options to give them the option in case both the overseas wicket-keepers are not in good form. Hence, they went after Mukul but LSG got him in the end.
3) Salil Arora
Salil was also needed by MI for the same reason. Here again, MI did not have the money to attempt a bidding war. Hence, SRH signed the cricketer. For MI, there would be dependency on Robin Minz to do a good job.
