India has lost the first two T20I games of the five-match series against the West Indies. It has raised many eyebrows about the Indian team’s selection. Ishan Kishan was the Player of the Series in the ODIs for scoring three consecutive half-centuries in three innings. But he couldn’t carry that form in the shorter format. He has scored only 33 runs in two T20I innings at a strike rate of 103.12. Not these two innings, his T20I numbers in 2022 have declined, and he hasn’t had any big scores in his last 20 innings. With Gaikwad and Jaiswal ready to open, Ishan will surely face the pressure of performing in the third game.
1. Shubman Gill
It will be a big call if India drops Shubman Gill. But his current form hasn’t done justice to the expectations placed on him. The 23-year-old failed in Test matches and the first two ODI innings. And here as well, he has scored just 10 runs in two T20Is, which is below the standard he has set. It is high time now for him to score some runs because other capable batters are also waiting for the win. If Gaikwad has not, Jaiswal has surely made his mark with his debut test series.
