A few performers will probably be given a final chance to show their skills in this format. If they fail to do well, it might be the end of their time in Tests, for the moment. Of course, they can always make a comeback after a strong show in domestic cricket.

    1) Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill deserves all five games in this series at No.3. He only recently came in at at No.3 and it is unfair to already criticise him. However, if he does not do well in this series, it might be the right time to introduce someone else who could do well here. Gill is good against spin and this will be his best chance to make an impression.

    2) KS Bharat must do well in the England Test series.

Bharat will consider himself lucky to get a chance for this series. At least for the first two games, he is likely to keep wickets. If he does not step up with the bat in these two games, he might lose his chance in the further games. The likes of Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan will come back for contention and Bharat might find it hard to make a comeback.

    3) Dhruv Jurel

Dhruv Jurel is one of the Indians who could be dropped if they fail in the England Test series. If KS Bharat does not do well, Dhruv Jurel might get his chance to make his debut. However, the rope will be short for him, as well. After this series, India’s next Test assignment will have the likes of Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant back in contention. They are left-handers and have the attacking game. Therefore, it is important that Jurel grabs his chances with full hands. Else, he might see himself out of the squad.
