Team India’s next assignment in Tests will be against the West Indies. There would be two games in this competition. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians who could make a comeback for the West Indies Test series.
India is in a transition, and care will be taken with the players who will be selected for the series. Focus will be to avoid a result that happened against New Zealand while also grooming players for the future.
1) Devdutt Padikkal
DDP made his debut against England last year. However, he missed out on the flight to England mainly because of his injury. Nevertheless, he is back to form and fitness. India could try him for a role at No.3 or No.5.
2) Shreyas Iyer could make a comeback for the West Indies Test series
Shreyas Iyer did not have a good run in the game against Australia A. Nevertheless, he has the experience and the form to make it count. Considering he is at his peak, Team India would not want to ignore his form now. Hence, there is a possibility that he could take up a slot in the middle order.
3) Axar Patel
It has been a while since Axar has played for India in Tests. However, considering the record that he has in India, it is ideal that he is a part of the squad. Depending on the composition of the opposition, one of Axar or Washington could take a spot in the playing XI.
