Andy Flower has been appointed as the new Head Coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore. The franchise will hope to win its first trophy with the serial trophy-winner now at the helm of affairs. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three talented Indians who might flourish under Andy Flower at RCB.
Apart from his tactical skills, Flower is also known for his player management. If a few cricketers fit his philosophy, they tend to do well under him. RCB has some cricketers who might need the guidance of Flower to take the next step in their careers.
1) Shahbaz Ahmed
Shahbaz Ahmed had a disappointing outing in IPL 2023. He failed both with the bat and the ball. Considering he was a capped player, his performance was poor. Nevertheless, RCB is likely to back him because he has got the base potential to make a strong comeback. Also, as seen with Krunal Pandya at LSG, Shahbaz can also do well under Flower. The coach is someone who likes versatile players and with Shahbaz offering more than one skillset, he could flourish under Flower.
2) Suyash Prabhudessai
Suyash Prabhudessai is one of the talented Indians who might flourish under Andy Flower at RCB. More than Suyash, it is RCB that needs the Goan cricketer to come good. There is talent for sure but the end product is not arriving. The franchise needs a finisher and they would want Flower to develop Suyash at the earliest. The cricketer can also offer some medium-pace to help his case.
3) R Sonu Yadav
One interesting name that we could hear more about in IPL 2024 is Sonu Yadav. After a terrific TNPL 2023, Sonu’s next agenda will be to make a mark in IPL. Mohammed Siraj is currently the only Indian pacer who has cemented his spot in the RCB XI. With an eye on batting depth, Flower could make use of Sonu’s services because this also fits his ideology.
