It is going downhill for Team India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians who might not play in the rest of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
There are three games remaining but a few players might have already played their last game of the series. India could bring in new options for the next matches to get back on the winning track.
1) R Ashwin
It was surprising to see Ashwin play the second game instead of Washington Sundar. Sundar had a decent match at Perth. Ashwin was okay with the bat but he was not great with the ball. Now, India could go back to Ravindra Jadeja, who has done well as the lone spinner in overseas Tests for India. Jaddu is anyways an upgrade with the bat.
2) Devdutt Padikkal might not feature in the remaining games of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Devdutt Padikkal is one of the Indians who might not play in the rest of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It is just a matter of time before Shubman Gill gets a big knock in this series. He has looked in good form and the confidence is also pleasing to watch. On the other hand, DDP failed to make use of his chances in Perth. Only if there is an injury, India might have to go back to DDP.
3) Harshit Rana
Harshit Rana was poor in the second game. He gave away runs too easily. Also, many expected him to do better with the bat. However, he has hardly done anything with the willow. The likes of Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna are already waiting for a chance. On the other hand, there is a chance that Mohammed Shami could also fly to Australia. Hence, Rana might not get another game.
