A lot would have changed by the time India plays its next Test series. It would be after the 2023 ODI World Cup. On that note, here, we take a look at three Indians who played against West Indies but may not be a part of India’s next Test series.

Currently, the Indian Team is facing too many injury issues. Therefore, by India’s next Test tournament, which is after a long gap, we might see a different-looking Team India.

    1) Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat deservedly got his chance after his performances in the Ranji Trophy. However, he was not penetrative when he played for India recently. Unadkat might get a few more chances in the ODI setup but if he does not impress the selectors in those games, the management might be inclined to hand a Test debut to Prasidh Krishna, who would be very useful in South Africa.

    2) Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane is one of the Indians who played against West Indies but may not be a part of India’s next Test series. Yes, he is the vice-captain but on the previous tour to South Africa, Rahane was not great. Now, with the likes of Shreyas Iyer returning and Shubman Gill likely to take a role in the middle-order, Rahane might not get a spot in the next Indian Test Team.

    3) Mukesh Kumar

He just played one game but due to the return of the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, Mukesh might have to sacrifice his place. Especially for the South Africa series, BCCI could opt for someone like Prasidh Krishna, whose height and pace will be very useful on the bouncy pitches.
