Zaheer Khan was probably the last left-arm pacer who played a while for Team India. It is shocking that India has not been able to find a replacement for him despite the country’s depth of talent.

    1) Arshdeep Singh

Especially after his impressive County Stint, Arshdeep Singh seems to be ahead of everyone else in the pecking order. However, he has to prove himself again in the Duleep Trophy. He definitely has the skills to trouble batters with the new ball. Whether he can take wickets with the older ball needs to be seen.

    2) K Khaleel Ahmed could make his Test debut in 2024

K Khaleel Ahmed is one of the left-arm pacers who could make their Test debut in 2024. There are a few experts and former cricketers who think Khaleel could be a better fit for Tests. He has better penetration with the new balls and his angles make it tougher for the batters, as well. However, Khaleel must work on his consistency and if that happens, he could be a choice for the BGT later this year.

    3) Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal has been a consistent performer in the last few seasons. He even did well for RCB in IPL 2024. Yash might have to add more pace to his bowling, though. He also needs to be more consistent. Nevertheless, there is potential in him to play for India in the longest format of the game soon.
